We have completed the design for a mobility scooter hoist to be fitted into the Ford Explorer that was launched in 2024.
Ford have brought back the Explorer name following several years without an Explorer model being sold. This latest Explorer is an electric crossover SUV.
The hoist was designed to mount on the left hand side of the boot as the larger split seat side is on the right. This means that as the mobility scooter is lifted into the car, the right and centre seats can be folded down to give the length needed to load most scooters without having to fold down all three rear seats.
The Ford Explorer can take a hoist to lift up to 100kg but if you have a mobility scooter or wheelchair that is near to that weight it is unlikely that there will be the physical space required to load it.
