What is the maximum weight the boot hoist can lift?

Our Apex Assist hoist is available in two maximum load capacities: 100kg or 150kg.

Some vehicles are not suitable for a hoist of this capacity and some are restricted to only be able to take the 100kg hoist. If you are loading a heavy mobility device that will require the 150kg hoist, your vehicle options will be more limited. Most vehicles that can only take the 100kg hoist would also not have the size of boot opening required for loading a larger mobility device therefore it is important to check the weight capacity and also the dimensions. We can advise on the safe working load of hoist available for your preferred model of vehicle.

Some cars also come with a ‘false floor’. This is when the floor sits above the base of the vehicle which creates a void underneath. It is also important to check the maximum load that the false floor in the car can take as some are capped at around 50kg. This means that even though the hoist is capable of lifting more weight, when you lower the mobility device down in the vehicle, the false floor could collapse if the mobility device exceeds the maximum load. The false floor maximum load is usually available in the vehicle handbook. 

With all hoist enquiries, it is vital that the weight, length, height and width of the mobility device is compared to the preferred vehicle.
